One of my main research interests is the history and philosophy of ecology, especially the methods, concepts and theory associated with field based ecological study. I am also interested in many of the philosophical issues raised by biology more generally. These include causation, interlevel relations, realism, the ontology of organisms and other biological units, and challenges for contemporary experimental practice. Before coming to HPS, I studied ecology and philosophy at Seattle Pacific University.
