My interests lie primarily in philosophy of biology, including biological function, sex and sexuality, major evolutionary transitions, and the Extended Evolutionary Synthesis. Recently, I’ve been intrigued by the evolution of evolvability. I’m also interested in scientific representation and modelling, scientific understanding, and pragmatism.
Before coming to Pitt HPS in 2024, I studied (history and) philosophy (of science) at the London School of Economics, King’s College London, and the University of Cambridge. Before philosophy, I studied architecture (which I never understood) at Hunan University.
